    Greetings from Cynthia Plumas, Owner & Program Director

    Cynthia  founded Cynergy Dance Company in July 2003.  She has over 25 years of dance experience and
    has been teaching all levels of dance for over 18 years. She currently teaches Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Hip-Hop,
    Lyrical and Salsa dance classes. Cynthia continues to develop her dance training and technique by
    participating in various dance workshops and competitions. Cynthia earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in
    Management from Texas State University in 1993. She is former member of the Texas State Strutter Drill
    Team. She has managed Cynergy Dance Studio for eight years.  Her goal is to continue building her
    business and her dance education by providing a versatile and unequivocal dance program suitable for
    students of all ages in order to help them reach their individual goals, improve self-confidence and
    provide them with an enjoyable and energetic dance experience.  

    Cynthia enjoys reaching out to the community in any way possible.  She has volunteered in several
    community events and is a supporter of the San Antonio United Way Program.  Cynthia has been a
    pageant mentor and was also selected to  judge the Miss San Antonio Teen Pageants in 2004 and 2006
    and the 2007 San Antonio Jam Fest  Dance competition and the 2008 Talent Explosion Dance
    Competition in San Marcos. Cynthia has proudly sponsored, coached and mentor of dance students
    competing in National American Miss Pageants, Miss San Antonio Fiesta Pageant and Miss San Antonio
    Teen & Pre-Teen Pageants. She is also Cynergy's lead Choreographer for Special Events to include
    Quinceanera, Sweet 16 and Weddings.  Cynthia has choreographed dances for several special event
    groups in the cities of  Houston, Austin and San Antonio areas.


    Kimberly Olivarez, Dance Team Director
    Kimberly has over  12  years of dance and teaching experience. She teaches jazz, hip-hop, ballet, leap
    and turns, cardio dance and has been Cynergy's Competitive Dance Team Director since 2007. She is a
    former dance team member at Churchill High School. Kimberly has danced for the WNBA Silver Stars
    team during the 2003-2004 season and was also a member of the San Antonio Spurs Dance Team
    during the 2004-2007 seasons. She was selected nation wide to represent the San Antonio Spurs for the
    first ever 2007 NBA All-Star dance team in Las Vegas.  Kimberly has danced with Will Smith, Bryan
    Adams, Laurie Ann Gibson, Frankie J., Paula Dianda, Clay Walker, and along side Christina Aguilera.  
    Kimberly  also coached the Dance Team at Antonian College Preparatory High School during the 2006-
    2007 school year. In addition to teaching at Cynergy Dance, Kimberly is also a Television Show host for
    Zonido, a Latin Music and Video Show, which airs on KSAT-12. Visit Kimberly's website at www.

    Ayla Akers, Belly Dance Instructor
    Ayla Akers began studying dance at the age of three and since then has studied numerous disciplines of
    dance including the contemporary forms of the United States, latin styles, native folk dances of various
    countries, and finally found her passion in belly dance. She shares this passion by performing at private
    parties, restaurants, and fundraising and community events. In her classes, Ayla aims to hone and refine
    students’ technique, build and strengthen the muscles essential to proper form and execution, and
    develop grace and charisma for charming performances.  She continues to improve her own knowledge
    and skill in dance through attending drills and technique workshops and studying the styles of other
    artists. Ayla is available for performances and private and group lessons. Ayla has been with Cynergy
    Dance since 2008.






    Ariel Watson, Dance Instructor

    Ariel Watson was born in Jacksonville, Arkansas where she started dancing at the age of three. Being a
    military child her family relocated to San Antonio, Texas. She is an alumni of James Madison High
    School, where she actively participated in Madison’s dance team. Ariel was honored to be an officer two
    out of the four years on spirit groups. Ms. Watson is a recent Graduate of the University of Texas at San
    Antonio where she earned a degree in Elementary Education. Ariel was a member of the University of
    Texas at San Antonio Chaparral Danceline where she competed annually at the NDA Collegiate Dance
    Competition. Ms. Watson teaches ballet, lyrical, modern, jazz, and leap and turns. She has many years of
    teaching and dance experience. Ariel is currently a professional dancer for the San Antonio Rampage Ice

    Lucy Hart, Folklorico Instructor
    Lucy "Morena" Hart began dancing at 7 years old. She danced in a private group for 6 years. At the age of
    13, she was a member of ''Casa De La Juventud'' dance group (CODE) for 2 years. At the age of 15, she
    began dancing at ''La Universidad De Guadalajara'' and graduated from ''Escuela de Artes Plasticas''
    where she received a Diploma of ''Maestra Coreografa''. She was a director of a famous Folkloric group
    in Los Angeles, Ca. ''Mexicaly Dance Co.'' She also had her own folklorico dance group known as Grupo
    Folklorico de Lucy Camacho.  Lucy began teaching at Cynergy Dance during the summer of 2009 where
    she began working with beginner folklorico students. Her competitive dance group, "Las Palomitas",
    earned numerous awards at their 2010 Dance Competitions. Awards earned include a Platinum Award
    from the Showstopper National Dance Competition and received a special judges award titled, "Did Not
    Skip A Beat". Her competitive team also received a High Gold Award at the Starbound National Talent
    Competition. In addition, the competitive group also earned the following Special Judges award for Duets
    performed: High Score Award for the Junior Petit Duet Division and "Excellent Precision & Timing".









    Pam Gil,  Dance Team Coordinator & Assistant Business Manager
    Pam Gil has been Cynergy's Dance Team Coordinator since 2008. She's a proud mom of a Cynergy
    Dance student. She communicates important information to dance team parents and ensures that our
    dance teams have everything they need for their performances. Pam has also assumed duties as
    Cynergy's Assistant Business Manager and is quite welcoming to all who come into the dance studio
    for the first time. Cynergy Dance is very pleased to have Pam on staff and appreciates her hard work
    and dedication to the students, parents and business office.

Ernesto Lea Place, Ballet Instructor
Ernesto M. Lea Place has performed and worked with professional companies such as Orlando Ballet,
Ballet Florida, Carolina Ballet Theatre, Nashville Ballet, Minnesota Ballet and now is a full time
company member of Ballet San Antonio. He has had the pleasure of training with very gifted teachers
such as Peter Stark (NYC), Donna Delsini (Frankfurt Ballet), Nicole Koenig (RAD intructor), Tina Martins
(Ballet Florida/Richmond Ballet), Jean-Hughes Ferray (Paris Opera Ballet) and many other wonderful
and dedicated individuals who really offer some of the best instruction in classical ballet in the country.
He has also attended summer programs at The Rock School, Sacramento Ballet, Ballet Hispanico and
Orlando Ballet School. He truly loves teaching and balancing the clean and productive technique with
true and inspiring artistry. He is really excited about joining the Cynergy Dance Co. faculty.
Caitlin Quinn, Ballet Instructor
Caitlin is a native of Warner Robins, GA. She began her ballet training with the International City School
of Ballet. She has trained with Ballet Austin, Nashville Ballet,  Orlando Ballet and Washington Ballet.
Prior to coming to San Antonio, she worked with the Minnesota Ballet Company. She is currently a
Professional Dancer with the San Antonio Ballet Company. She recently performed in the Dracula and
Nutcracker Ballet. Caitlin joined Cynergy Dance in the Fall of 2011 and is currently teaching Ballet,
Modern, Leaps & Turns. She is not only a beautiful dancer, but also a very inspiring dance instructor.

Amanda Garcia, Dance Instructor
Amanda began dancing at the age of 3. She is trained in jazz, ballet,ballroom, contemporary, leaps
and turns, dance team preparation (kick technique, turns, flexibility) and lyrical. Amanda attended
MacArthur High School and was a member of the Brahmadora Dance Team for two years.  After,
graduating high school she attended Kilgore Jr. College and was a part of the World Famous Kilgore
College Rangerettes. She has also been a Director and Captain of the Northwest Vista Dance Team.  
Amanda received her Bachelors Degree in Sociology and Minor in Dance Education from Texas State
University.  Amanda has danced with some of the top choreographers in the industry,Dominic
DeFranco, Wade Robson, Kitty Carter, Raquel Torres-Garcia, Shane Sparks. She has also performed
at numerous dance events and sporting events.


    Lindsay Boyd, Teaching Apprentice
    Lindsay attends Madison High School and has been a student and volunteer teaching apprentice at
    Cynergy Dance since 2010. She is currently a member of the Madison Drill Team and plans to  
    continue her education in the field of dance and the performing arts when she attends college. Lindsay
    is also an "A"  Honor Roll Student who works very hard for all that she has accomplished thus far. She
    demonstrates  a great deal of responsibility, patience and passion when working with children and
    teens and looks forward to becoming a professional dancer and instructor in the future.
